Order to register FIR against Babar Azam suspended

Justice Asjad Javed Ghural has passed the order on an appeal filed by Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Jan 15th, 2021) Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday suspended order of a session court regarding registration of FIR against Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

Justice Asjad Saeed Ghural passed the order on an appeal moved by cricketer Babar Azam challenging order of a sessioins court on plea of Hamiza Mukhtar seeking registration of FIR against him.

Earlier, a local tv reported that Hamiza Mukhtar, the woman whoh had accused the national player of sexual misconduct, had taken a U-Turn.

In a video message, she had said that some of her friends had motivated her to make false allegations against the cricketer to be popular.

“Neither I had nor have any relation with Babar Azam,” said Hamiza while recording her statement without any pressure.

“Some friends motivated me to do all this for fame,” she further.

He stated that action should be taken against her if she made any such statement.

She also wrote an affidavit in which she took back all the allegations and said that all these were false.

It may be mentioned here that Hamiza accused Basbar of sexual harassment, saying that she had supported him to make him a cricketer by spending huge money on him.
