Surgical, Medical Goods Worth US$ 358.314 Mln Exported In FY 2015-16

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Augst,2016) : Country earned US$ 358.314 million by exporting different kinds of surgical goods and medical instruments during financial year 2015-16 as compared to the corresponding period of last financial year (2014-15). During the period from July-June, 2015-16, the exports of surgical goods and medical instruments registered an increase of 5.4 percent as compared the exports of same period of last year, said the data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. During the financial year 2014-15, the exports of surgical goods and medical instruments were recorded at US$ 341.133 million which showed over 5 percent growth in financial year 2015-16. From July-June, 2015-16, chemicals and pharmaceutical products valuing US$ 803.479 million also exported as compared to the exports of US$ 980.

Meanwhile, country exported about 3,335 metric tons of onyx manufactured with a total cost of US$ 7.80 million, which was up by 16.82 percent as compared to the same period of last financial year. The exports of onyx manufactured was recorded at 2,972 metric tons valuing US$ 6.67 million tons during the financial year 2014-15. During the financial year 2015-16, about 11,142 metric tons of pharmaceutical products valuing US$ 203.577 million were exported as compared to 14,445 metric tons costing US$ 211.83 million of same period of last financial year. In last financial year, country earned US$ 409.166 million by exporting other chemicals as against the exports of US$ 504.83 million of the year of 2014-15.
