Players From 19 Countries To Participate In Int'l Squash C'ship

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Augst,2016) : As many as 27 players from 19 countries will be participating in the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) International Squash Championship scheduled to be held here at the Mushaf Squash Complex from next month.
Egyptian squash player Omar Abdel Moeed will be the top seed in the championship scheduled to be played from September 27 to October 2. "A total of 12 players are placed in the main round of the tournament which include nine international and three Pakistani players," Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Secretary Group Captain Amir Nawaz told APP on Wednesday. The countries whose players have confirmed to participate in event include England, Scotland, New Zealand, Austria, Australia, Egypt, Jordan, Ireland, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Demark, Wales, Spain, France, Switzerland, America, Qatar and Kuwait.
He said Pakistani players including Farhan Zaman and Tayab Aslam have been kept in the main round of the tournament. Amir said the PSF have started preparations to host four international tournaments here.
"These four tournaments will be held here at the Mushaf Squash Complex from September to December," he said. He said the Professional Squash Association (PSA) has granted Pakistan four tournaments of $25,000. "We are hopeful that the PSA will award Pakistan a $50,000 tournament in the next year," he said.
