Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Augst,2016) : Five ships C.V Maersk Detroit, C.V MSC Alghero, M.V African Glory, M.T Globe Tanya and M.T Tectus carrying containers, general cargo, LPG and diesel oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Sui Southern Gas Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday. Meanwhile three ships C.V Maersk Stepnica, M.T Evita and M.T Gas Lion carrying containers, furnace oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 60% on Tuesday where a total of ten berths were engaged by ships namely C/V Maersk Detroit, C.V MSC Alghero, C.V MSC Paris, C.V Jazan, M.V Diyaab, M.V African Glory, M.V Glarus, M.T Globe Tanya, M.T Tectus and M.T Liberty-N to load/offolad containers, cement, general cargo, fertillzer, diesel oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 77,479 tonnes, comprising 46,780 tonnes import cargo and 30,699 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,054 containers (TEUs) (1,665 imports TUEs & 1,389 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours. DEPARTURES: Container vessel C.V Maersk Detrolt sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning. ARRIVAL schedule: Three ships C.V Maersk Stepnica, M.T Gas Lion and Grietje carrying containers, chemicals andgeneral cargo are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Engro Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while C.V Suez Canal is due arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, and C.V CNNI Arauco and C.V Hugo schulte are due to arrive on Friday,5 August-2016.
