Demand Of Azadi Dresses On Rise Among Youngsters

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Augst,2016) : With only nine days left in the celebrations of 70th Independence Day, falling on August 14, the patriotic youngsters and children are thronging to markets for buying Azadi dresses and other relevant accessories. Along with bunting, badges, balloons, stickers, flags and other stuff, Azadi dresses both for boys and girls of green and white colour have become an essential item for most of stalls. Asima Khan, a resident of G-9 Markaz said, "I visited Karachi Company market for shopping today and was surprised to see the huge variety of Azadi shirts and trousers for girls and boys." During the last few years, the trend of buying Azadi dresses has gained popularity among the people especially children and youngsters, she added. She said, the trend is good in the sense that wearing Azadi dresses on I-Day is another way to show patriotism and love for our country.
A young girl, Saima Muneeb said, "Me and my friends will wear the flag coloured suits on I-Day.
We have bought the dresses and will visit stalls to buy other accessories like green and white bangles, shoes and pin badges". She said, I-Day is getting the shape of a festival or gala and people of all ages participate in its activities vigorously. Raeed Khan, a student of Class V said, "I will wear green and white shirt on Independence Day and celebrate the festival with my friends". "I will also decorate my home with bunting and stickers before the day as my friends will visit me to see the decoration.
We usually compete each other in decorating homes", he said.
