Vector-Born Disease Directorate On Card: NA Told

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Augst,2016) : Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services and Regulation Dr Darshan Wednesday apprised the National Assembly that Vector-Born disease directorate was on card to enhance coordination and training facilities among the Centre and provinces. Responding to a Calling Attention Notice raised by Shaista Pervaiz and others regarding rapid spread of vector-born disease in the country, he said the health had now a devolved subject and was transferred to the provinces under 18th amendment.
He said the Federal government was regularly providing guideline on public health to the provinces. Dr Darshans said Malaria Control Program at the federal level was being expended.
Malaria witnessed decrease in 2015, he added. He said the Federal government was providing training to the provinces about Congo virus and Dengue disease in National Institute of Health (NIH) besides collecting data about various diseases.
