HONG KONG,(Pakistan Point News - APP - 3rd Augst,2016) - Hong Kong shares tumbled Wednesday, following a global sell-off that continued in Asian trading, as investors caught up the day after the city's exchange was closed by a typhoon. The Hang Seng Index sank 1.76 percent, or 390.02 points, to end the day on 21,739.12. But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.24 percent, or 7.18 points, to 2,978.46. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.42 percent, or 8.13 points, to 1,934.82.
