Lawmakers condemn terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia, term it attack
on Ummah

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd August, 2016) : The lawmakers on Tuesday strongly condemned terrorist attacks in three cities of Saudi Arabia on July 4, 2016 and termed it an attack on the entire Muslim Ummah. They also expressed solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia. They said that the attacks had hurt all Muslims and the entire Muslim Ummah would sacrifice their lives to defend the Holy Places. The National Assembly also passed a resolution strongly condemning the terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia and expressed its full solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia. The resolution, moved by Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf was passed by the House unanimously. According to the resolution, the attacks targeted the security headquarters of Masjid-i-Nabavi, Madina Manawara in which four security personnel were killed.

The people of Pakistan are deeply shocked and saddened over the attacks in the holy land and shared the pain and grief of their Saudi brethren. The House extended its condolences to the bereaved families who lost their dear ones in the attacks and expressed its full solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia. The House stressed that the international community in general and Muslims in particular need to forge unity at this critical moment to foil the nefarious designs of enemies of humanity and Islamic world. The House reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all its form and manifestations. Parliamentary Leader of PPP, Syed Naveed Qamar endorsing the resolution strongly condemned the attacks and said the Makkah and Madina were the holy places of the Muslims and not property of any country.

He termed it an attack on the entire Ummah and stressed the need for unity among the Muslims to face the challenges. Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar while condemning the attacks said, "the holy places are close to the core of our hearts and added that they are ready for any sacrifice to safeguard these place." Ali Muhammad Khan of PTI said "We all are united to safeguard the holy places and added that those who attacked on the holy place were not human being. Sahibzada Tariq Ullah of Jamaat e Islami said the government of Pakistan should extend all kind of security to the Saudi government for the holy places.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said every Muslim wanted to go there and protect the holy places. Shaikh Rashid said stability of Saudi Arabia was Pakistan's progress and stability. Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour of ANP, Haji Shah G Gul Afridi, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Aisha Sayed, Ijaz ul Haq and Maulana Amir Zaman also spoke on the occasion and said the terrorist act had hurt the entire Muslim world.

They said that 200 million people of Pakistan were ready for giving any kind of sacrifices for protection of the Holy places. Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michal and other members of minorities Aasia Nasir, Ramesh Lal, Dr Ramesh Kumar and Dr.Darshan supporting the resolution also condemned the attacks. They said terrorists were enemies of humanity.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai called for convening of a joint sitting of the Parliament to deliberate upon the challenges confronting the country and the Muslim Ummah.
