LNG corruption case: Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi indicted

Court has handed charge-sheet over to PML-N leader and former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in LNG case.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Nov 16th, 2020) PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was indicted in LNG corruption case on Monday (today).

The court handed charge- sheet over to former Prime Minsiter Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in LNG case.

Former finance minister Miftah Ismail was also indicted by the court in the same case.

However, both the PML-N leaders pleaded not guilty and vowed to fight the case.

According to the details, the court framed charges against both PML-N leaders and directed NAB to produce witnesses to record their statement on the next date of hearing.

NAB had moved reference against both Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail for their alleged involvement in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import contract case in an accountability court in Islamabad.

The former PM was on bail granted earlier by Islamabad High Court against surety bonds of Rs. 10 million.
