Zahid Hamid, Moroccan Envoy Discuss COP-22 Preparations

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Augst,2016) : Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Climate Change Zahid Hamid and Moroccan Ambassador Mustapha Salahdine Tuesday discussed preparations for the 22nd Conference of the Parties (COP-22) scheduled to be held in Morocco by end of this year. During a meeting held here, the minister said "Pakistan will take along a big delegation for COP-22 including representatives of Ministry of Climate Change, Planning Commission, Water and Power, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Gilgit- Baltistan, non-governmental organization, media and private sector.
" According to a press release, Pakistan is on 8th number in the list of countries most affected by the climate change and very much aware of its vulnerability and responsibilities to combat the climate change effects. Pakistan is the fourth country to formulate the Climate change Act and also establishing the Climate Change Authority. Zahid Hamid demanded to provide a bigger pavilion to Pakistan at the venue so that it could better project its vulnerability and actions taken to deal with the climate change at the conference. Ambassador Mustapha Salahdine assured to extend full support of his country to Pakistan in the COP-22 preparations.
