Twelve Mln Saplings To Be Planted In Sindh During Monsoon Plantation Drive

HYDERABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : Chief Conservator of Forests Sindh Monday announced to start monsoon plantation drive 2016 under which 12 million saplings would be planted throughout the province including plantation of 2 million saplings under Green Pakistan Program. According to a statement issued here the 7.5 million saplings of different species of trees would be planted in forests while the remaining 4.5 million saplings would be planted at various places outside the forest lands. Conservators of forests and social forestry circles Hyderabad and Sukkur were instructed to set up special cells at their corresponding offices to ensure monitoring of the drive and to review the success ratio of plantation of trees handed over to different agencies for the purpose, the chief conservator said adding that complete report in this regard would be submitted to the office of chief conservator.
He stressed the need of participation of public in plantation drive to make it a success and appealed to the people to play their role effectively so that more and more trees could be grown for protection of environment.
