ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : The Supreme Court on Monday suspended the Peshawar High Court's (PHC) verdict regarding issuance of risk allowance to all employees of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) besides issuing notices to respondents in the case. The division bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case filed by CAA against the PHC verdict. During the course of proceedings, the chief justice remarked that if it the argument of CAA was admitted that risk allowance was awarded to Airport Security Force (ASF) for facing terrorism challenges then the same allowance should also be given to lawyers, judges, police and every citizen of the country because terrorists can attack any body. During the course of proceedings, the counsel for the CAA told the court that two type of employees were working in CAA as one segment perform duty in uniform for ASF while the other portion work without uniform in offices.
He said the ASF officials were awarded risk allowance of 50 percent on their basic pay because they performs duties on the front and faces challenges of terrorism, on which, the chief justice remarked that if the CAA logic was admitted then the risk allowance should be given every citizen as the terrorists can attack anywhere. The counsel for CAA pleaded the court to suspend PHC verdict and that PHC did not consider the real facts in its judgment. Later, the court suspended the PHC verdict and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
