Teachers Urged To Focus On Students' Character-building

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : The Centre for Educational Policy and Administration (CEPA) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), in collaboration with the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), organised a five-day 'In-service short-term training for the university faculty', here on Monday. Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Naseer Pasha (SI) chaired the inaugural session of the workshop while Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Busines Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Bio Sciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman and a large number of faculty members of UVAS attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Naseer Pasha urged the teacher to be real role model for their students through their conduct.
He asked them to become authority in their respective subjects.
He advised teachers to follow the basic ethics of teaching: punctuality, proper and formal dress, discipline in classroom. He also called upon them to treat their students politely and focus on their character-building. Earlier, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad, who is also president of CEPA, spoke about various aspects of teaching and on how to improve teaching techniques.
He said that the aim of the workshop was to provide a forum for discussion among educators for addressing various objects of teaching methodology and to highlight potential impact of learning and the role for government policies in enhanced learning. Later, Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman also spoke on the occasion and thanks the audience.
