Sindh CM approves one year extension to Rangers, Special power for 90
days

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Monday approved a summary under which Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, have been given special powers for 90 days apart from allowing its stay in Sindh for another one year. He was presiding over a meeting on law and order here at the Sindh CM House, said a statement. The CM Sindh said that Pakistan Rangers and police have done a wonderful job by restoring peace in the city. "We must appreciate their struggle and sacrifices for restoring law & order in province," he said and added that their role in eradication of terrorism and target killing, crackdown against extortionists is no doubt commendable.

The Chief Secretary, Siddique Memon gave him summary under which Home department had recommended the extension in the stay of Pakistan Rangers in Sindh for another one year and granting special power for 90 days.

The CM Sindh approved the summary forthwith and directed the chief secretary to coordinate with Federal government for notification at the earliest. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Sindh Siddique Memon, IGP Sindh AD Khwaja, Home Secretary Riaz Hussain Soomro and others. The IG police briefed the CM Sindh on overall law & order and invited him to visit police headquarters which the chief minister accepted.
