Lok Virsa Summer camp children visit Museum of Natural History

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage has arranged a special trip to Pakistan Monument Museum and Pakistan Museum of Natural History for participating children of Lok Virsa Summer camp. Lok Virsa Executive Director Dr.

Fouzia Saeed said that the objective of the trip was to create awarness among children regarding Pakistan's languages and cultural heritage, provide them an orientation about regional languages and indigenous folk cultures and re-affirm our identity of being multi-cultural and pluralistic country. The promotion of folk heritage would also create more space for expressing diversity within the culture, assert cultural autonomy and dignity which could contribute towards being a stronger democracy and a stronger nation, she said.

The camp will provide basic knowledge to children in Sindhi and Pashto languages.

They will learn about poetry, music, crafts and festivals of both these communities. They will learn about 15 sentences and additional vocabulary, she said. The summer camp will conclude with a colourful ceremony and distribution of certificates among the participants.
