Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : Shipping activity remained active at the Port where three ships C.V MSC Rachele, M.T G.T Star and M.T Liberty-n carrying Containers, Palm oil and LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday, July 31,2016. Meanwhile four more ships C.V Xpress Kailash, M.V Grietje, M.V Pacific Singapore and M.T Globe Tanya with Containers, General cargo, Funace oil and LPG oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 67% on Sunday where a total of ten berths were engaged by ships namely C.V MSC Rachele, C.V MSC Poseido, C.V Lioyd Doncarios, M.V Diyaab, M.V DA zong, M.V Fareast Honesty, M.V Glarus, M.T G.T Star, M.T Karachi and M.T Liberty-N to load/offload Containers, Cement, General cargo, Coal, Fertilizer, Palm oil, Furance oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.
A record cargo handling was achieved at the port on Sunday, where a cargo volume of 158,506 tonnes, comprising 86,344 tonnes import cargo and 72,162 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,699 Containers (TEUs) (901 imports TEUs & 3,798 TEUs exports) was handled at the port. Two ships M.V TG Poseidon and M.V Fareast Honesty sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships M.T G.T Star and M.V DA Zhong are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Four ships C.V MSC Paris, C.V Jazan, C.V Xpress Kailash and M.T Sea-3 carrying Containers and Steel coil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Monday, 1st August 2016, while M.T Globe Tanya is due arrive at Port Qasim on same day and C.V MSC Alghero is due to arrive on Tuesday, 2nd August 2016.
