Shehbaz sharif says he has been politically victimized today while Maryam Aurangzeb says NAB has arrested him on the order of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News-Sept 28th, 2020) PML-Chief and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been arrested after Lahore High Court turned down his bail plea in Money laundering case.
A LHC division bench led by Justice Sardar Naeem Ahmad heard the arguments of Shehbaz Sharif’s counsel in money laundering and assets beyond means case.
Shehbaz Sharif who had reached Lahore High Court to attend the proceedings of money laundering case and argued before the bench soon after his counsel concluded his arguments in the same case.
Maryam Aurangzeb and other leaders of the PML-N were also present there on the premises of the Lahore High Court.
NAB officials arrested Shehbaz Sharif as he came out of the courtroom after rejection of his bail.
His bail has been rejected at the moment when PPP Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur have also been indicted in money laundering and Thatha Water references.
Strict security arrangements have been made outside the premises of the Lahore High Court as large number o police contingents have been deployed there at the gates of the appellate court. Huge numbers of political workers have gathered outside the premises of the court while the PML-N leaders including Maryam Aurangzeb are worried over their leader’s arrest. The workers chanted slogans against the PTI government over arrest of Shehbaz Sharif.
“I have been made victim of political revenge, said Shehbaz Shairf on the occasion of his arrest.
Talking to the reporters outside the premises of the Lahore High Court, Maryam Aurangzeb said that it was NAB-Niazi nexus which had been oppressing the voice of opposition for last two years.
“NAB has arrested Shehbaz Sharif on the order of Imran Khan,” said Maryam Aurangzeb, pointing out that PTI government has planned “rigging” in upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections. She said that they targeted all those who made this country a nuclear state.
“Nobody is there who could question this government of “ineligible”, said Maryam Aurangzeb. She also questioned about the status of foreign funding case against PTI and Imran Khan.
“Shehbaz Sharif served the nation,” she added.
