Humam Ahmad, Hammad win PSB Independence Day Junior Squash titles

Humam Ahmad and Hammad Khan clinched the trophies of Pakistan Sports Board Independence Day Junior Squash Tournament played here at PSB Mohib Ullah Khan Squash Academy

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2017 ) : Humam Ahmad and Hammad Khan clinched the trophies of Pakistan sports board Independence Day Junior Squash Tournament played here at PSB Mohib Ullah Khan Squash academy on Monday.

Former World Champion Qamar Zaman, former World No. 2 Mohib Ullah Khan, Nazimeen Nawa Khali Malik Imtiaz and Sajjad Khan Khalil, Director PSB Coaching Center Peshawar Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem, PSB coaches Pervez Ali, Shehzad Mohib and trainer Adil Khan, and large number of players were also present.

Shehzad Monib while speaking on this occasion said that like every year, this year the PSB Coaching Center Peshawar organized Squash and Volleyball events. He also thanked Khalid Waqar, coach Pakistan Volleyball team and KP Volleyball Association for extending support to PSB in connection with the Independence Day celebration.

He said as desired by Director General PSB Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera and with the supports of Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem all the position holders awarded cash prizes.

In the Under-11 final Humam Ahmad defeated his strong rival Ibrahim Mohib in a thrilling three sets battle.

The score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-8. Both Humam Ahmad and Ibrahim Mohib exhibited good display. In the final of the Under-15 final Hammad Khan defeated Ghulam Muhammad by 3-0, the score was 11-7, 12-10 and 11-8.

In the volleyball event Peshawar Green defeated Peshawar Red by 3-0, the score was 25-23, 25-19 and 27-25. Similarly, a volleyball match was also played between Bannu-A and Bannu-B in connection with the Independence Day celebration wherein Bannu-A defeated Bannu-B by 3-1, the score was 23-25, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-22.

At the end, the chief guest former World Champion Qamar Zaman gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up of the squash and volleyball event along with former World No. 2 Mohib Ullah Khan, Nazim Malik Imtiaz, Nazim Sajjad Khalil and Director Sports PSB Coaching Center Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem.
