ISTANBUL, Sept 15 (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2017 ) - Reigning champions Spain were knocked out of the European Championship on Thursday, losing 92-72 to Slovenia in Istanbul.
A Spain side featuring NBA star Pau Gasol were looking to win the title after triumphing in three of the last four editions, while Slovenia have never previously done better than fourth place in 2009.
They will face either Serbia or Russia in Sunday's final, with those two meeting in the second semi-final on Friday. Gasol, of the San Antonio Spurs, is now 37 and there are doubts as to whether he will continue representing his country.
