Alpine skiing: Giant slalom delayed after plane clips camera cable

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland, , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2017 ) - The second run of the men's giant slalom at the World Ski Championships, scheduled for 1200 GMT Friday, was delayed after a military plane on an exhibition fly-by clipped a cable, causing a camera to drop onto the course.

The eye-in-the-sky camera plunged some 50 metres, crashing to the ground in the finish area of the Corviglia course, just metres from the spectator tribunes. No one was injured. Organisers announced a 30-minute delay as skiers were unable to carry out their pre-race inspection as the chairlift they would ordinarily use to go back up the mountain was closed for security reasons.
