LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Feb, 2018 ) :The 9-A-Side Shezan Hockey Gold Cup will be played here from February 15 at the national hockey stadium. The event has been organised by Lahore's two leading hockey nurseries, Dar Hockey academy and Rana Zaheer Academy under the supervision of Pakistan Hockey Federation.
The six competing teams have all been named after Pakistan's hockey greats who are no more in this world and served the game with pride and distinction. Following are the teams, Brigadier (retd) Manzoor Hussain Atif, Munir Ahmad Dar, Chaudhry Ghulam Rasool, Tanveer Ahmad Dar, Saeed Anwar and Afzal Manna.
"It is going to be an exciting hockey event in which each team comprises nine players ,instead of traditional 11-member team, and spectators will be watching quality hockey," said a spokesman of the PHF while talking to APP here on Tuesday. He said the event will also help in identifying new hockey talent.
