Trials Of Peshawar District Female, Males Games Begins For U-23 Games

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Feb, 2017 ) : Three-day trials to select teams of the Peshawar District for 15 male and as many female teams of various Games got under way here at Qayyum sports Complex on Tuesday.
The hockey male and female trials got under way at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium under the aegis of KP Hockey Association. Chairman KP Hockey Association and Senior Vice President Muhammad Saeed Khan was the chief guest.
District Sports Officer Saleem Raza Khan, Secretary KP Hockey Association Syed Zahir Shah, international coach Zia Ur Rehman Binori, Miss Haya Khan, Miss Najma Qazi, President Peshawar District Hockey Association Haji Hidayat Ullah Khan, and Secretary Ayaz Khan were also present and monitored the trials of both male and female.
In the female a total of 36 girls turned up for the trials of various school and colleges and among them 20 players were short-listed on the opening day while 81 boys turned up for the trials from across Peshawar District and among them 33 players were short-listed for the camp to setup on the same venue.
The female camp will be in progress in the morning under the supervision of Zia Ur Rehman, Miss Najma Qazi and Miss Haya while at 3.00 p.m the boys� camp will continue under the supervision of Yasir islam and Said Shah.
DSO Peshawar Saleem Raza would monitor the camps on behalf of the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The trials of Badminton (male and female) started at Wadood indoor Hall, Qayyum Sports Complex.
Mian Sadaqat Shah, coach Nadeem Khan, selector international player Murad Khan, coach Hayat Ullah were also present. The Table Tennis Male and Female Trials are in progress at PSB Coaching Center Peshawar under the aegis of KP Table Tennis Association.
Vice President Pakistan Table Tennis Association Kifayat Ullah, Miss Amina, international table tennis player Afsar Ahmad and coach Naveed Khan were also present. A total of 73 female in badminton, 31 female in table tennis, 44 boys in badminton and 36 boys in table tennis appeared in the trials.
Pakistan's team former skipper Abdur Rahim Khan along with national coaches Muhammad Muhammad Akram and Khalid Waqar conducted the volleyball trials wherein 103 players turned up while international coach Faisal Khan, former Pakistan team skipper Basit Kamal conducted the football trials in which a total 91 players turned and the basketball trials held at Qayyum Sports Complex with Din Muhammad, and Raj Meer Khan acted as selectors.
A total of 61 players turned up for the trials. The female tuf-of-war, netball, volleyball and handball will be organized in Lady Griffith Higher Secondary School while cricket, baseball and basketball will be organized at Frontier College for Women on Feb 16 and squash will be organized at PAF Jansher Khan Squash Complex from 9.00 a.m in the morning and will continue up till 1.00 p.m.
All the boys games trials will be organized in Qayyum Sports Complex from Feb 11-16, 2017 from 2.00 p.m to 5.00 p.m. APP/ijz/rn
