The single bench comprising Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the petition. During the hearing, petitioner's counsel submitted that Muhammad Irfan along with six other cricketers were put on ECL due to their involvement in spot fixing scandal.
However, the PCB had cleared Muhammad Irfan, but despite that his name was not removed from the ECL, he added.
He submitted that the step was a violation of fundamental rights. He submitted that the petitioner-cricketer wanted to go for performing Umrah but could not travel due to inclusion of his name in the ECL.
He pleaded with the court to issue directions for removing his name from the ECL. To the court's query, deputy attorney general sought time for filing reply. At this, the court issued notices to the respondents and sought their reply till November 2.
