Blind WC Schedule To Be Announced Next Week

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2017 ) :The schedule of the World Cup cricket of the Blind will be announced on in the last week of November. The World Cup to be hosted by Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) will be held in Pakistan and UAE from January 7 to 21, 2018.
Talking to APP, PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah said as many as 24 matches of the World Cup will be played in UAE while 7 matches will be played in Pakistan, he said. If Asian teams make it to the final of the World Cup than the final would be held in Pakistan on January 21 but if European teams qualifies for the top honor then it would be played in UAE on January 19,he said.
He said the Nepalese team would be participating in the World Cup for the first time.The participating seven teams include Pakistan, West Indies, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Australia, he said.
He said in the recently held meeting of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) it was decided that the inaugural edition of the World Blind Twenty20 Cup will be staged in England in the year 2021.
He said as many as 18 players have been finalized and the team for the World Cup which will be announced this week. The Pakistan team management for the World Cup includes Abdul Razzaq (head coach), Tahir Mehmood (trainer), Masood Jan (batting coach) and Asif Azeem (media coordinator).
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan has won two World Cups in 2002 and 2006 while the other two are won by South Africa (1998) and India (2014).
