KP U-23 Dera Ismail Region Inter-District Male Games Begins Amidst Tight Security

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2018 ) :The 3rd edition of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dera Ismail Khan Region Inter-District Under-23 Male Games got under way at scenic Rata Gulachi sports Complex grounds Dera Ismail Khan amidst tight security with great enthusiasm witnessed in 310 male players' part of the mega event.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Ghandapur was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Operation Syed Saqlain shah, Director Games Niamat Ullah Marwat, Director Development Salim Raza, Director Youth Munir Abbas, District Sports Officers Tariq Razi Ullah Betani (Tank), Anwar Kaml Burki (Dera Ismail Khan), officials and large number of spectators were also present.
The colourful ceremony was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Abdul Basit, followed by a melodious Naat presented by Muhammad Moiz , a provincial position holder, and a student of GHSS No.
4 Dera. KP Minister for Revenue Sardar Ali Amin Khan Ghandapur formally announced the commencement of the Games wherein more than 310 male players are taking part in 15 different games comprising athletic, basketball, badminton, kabaddi, wrestling, Karate, judo, volleyball, table tennis, squash, hockey, Gymnastic, and tug of war, tennis and football.
Speaking on this occasion, KP Minister Ali Amin Khan said it is very encouraging that the first phase of the Inter-District Games are going to be completed in Dera, followed by the second phase where contingents from all seven regions comprising Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Hazara and Peshawar will be taking part.
He expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Under-23 Games wherein opportunities have been given to the youth to show their skills and come up at national and international levels. He lauded Directorate of Sports KP for extending proper guidance, training and coaching at the door steps of the youth and now it is up to the youth to come up and show their skills.
He said KP has passed under time of insurgency and militancy, serial of bomb blasts where thousands of people lost their previous live. Ali Ameen said with the matchless sacrifices rendered by the jawans of security forces now normalcy has been restored to Dera Ismail Khan, the whole of KP and the rest of Pakistan.
In his introductory speech, Director Operation Syed Saqlain Shah thanked the chief guest for extending full support to the Directorate General of Sports KP for holding the U-23 Games for the 3rd consecutive years with due opportunities have been given to both male and female players to explore their hidden talent.
In the opening day match of Tug-of-War Tank upset Dera Ismail Khan by 2-1 in the final. In the squash event Dera Ismail Khan defeated District Tank by 3-0. In the end, the chief guest Ali Amin Ghandapur gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up. The winner was awarded Rs. 20,000 while the runners got Rs. 15000 cash prize.
