Nisar Bazmi Produced Evergreen Songs

Acclaimed music director and composer Nisar Bazmi was well versed in the use of orchestra, and he gave superb and evergreen songs to the Pakistan film industry.

Talking to APP in connection with the 11th death anniversary of music maestro, known composer Ustad Sagheer Ahmad said that Nisar Bazmi was master of using orchestra. "Bazmi Sahib knew which instrument should be used for giving music for any song," he said adding that the great musician contributed amazing songs to the industry.

Ustad Sagheer, who has been associated with music industry for the last over 40 years, said that Nisar Bazmi produced a number of melodious songs for films, but songs composed by him for "Lakhon Main Aik" and "Umrao Jaan Ada" were extraordinary and heart-touching.

He reminisced that Bazmi Sahib composed songs keeping in view the situation of the story of a film.

Bazmi himself had a sweet voice and he had command over ragas, he added. He was a musician par excellence, the music teacher said.

Former director programmes Radio Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmad Malik said that he was a matchless composer. He said that the history of Pakistan film music would be incomplete without adding the name of Nisar Bazmi, as he composed songs for about 75 films.

The vacuum created due to the death of the music maestro would not be fulfilled for centuries, he added. Sarwar Shah, an old fan of Nisar Bazmi, said that he used to watch films eagerly whose music was composed by the great musician. Name of Bazmi Sahib was considered to be the guarantee for success of a film in the golden era of Pakistan film industry, he added.
