Govt Approves PC-II Of National Film Academy: Jamal Shah

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2018 ) :The government has approved the PC-II of the National Film academy and has provided Rs. 55 million for the feasibility study and the design competition.
Director General Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) Syed Jamal Shah told APP that the government has very generously provided funds for the culturally important interventions. He said that the government has also approved another five PSDP projects including National Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts, up-gradation of technical facilities for the film projection, construction of a restaurant along with souvenir shop, installation of multilingual multimedia information system for the visitors of the National Art Gallery and the PNCA open air theatre.
He said that PNCA would also establish its centres at Peshawar, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Quetta, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzafarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Jamal Shah said that the Culture sector in Pakistan is in dire need of platforms at Regional levels for promotion of art and culture in the country.
He said that these art and cultural complexes will fulfill this most essential requirement. Besides training programs the proposed center will also serve as a convention point for artistic activities in these areas which lacks such suitable centres for the artistic activities and enhancing the quality of entertainment and production for its citizens.
