ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Sep, 2017 ) : A series of follow-up screening sessions of short documentaries and films will be organized in ten Asian Peace Film Festival (APFF) partner countries, at more than thirty Pakistani Universities and at several press clubs in Pakistan.
To commemorate the International Peace Day, 11-country consortium of Asian creative community launched this initiative by organizing a 3-day Asia Peace Film Festival (APFF) in Pakistan. The event was organized by Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage in collaboration with APFF.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, Secretary Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera said that bringing all creative people together from across the Asia was need of the hour.
He highly appreciated the chief executive of the festival Amjad Bhatti for proposing such a fruitful event and also lauded the teamwork of the organizers and praised the enthusiasm of the young volunteers.
Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera said that it was very important for Asian countries to come closer to each other through such social and cultural events, because it would help them in developing better understand of each others' values and issues.
He highlighted the importance of promoting more people to people contact among all the regions and countries of the Asian continent. Secretary Information said that the films showcased during the festival should be made available to media so that it reaches to larger audience.
He said that these films and festival would improve tourism among the Asian and other countries of the world, and showing such films would help people from different nationalities to share their cultures and life experiences.
Earlier, the foreign delegates on the occasion highly appreciated the love and hospitality of people of Pakistan. Foreign delegate Sufiya from Indonesia said that she enjoyed every second to be here in Pakistan from last three days.
She said that every delegate should go back and tell the world about the true image of Pakistan and its loving people. She said that it was memorable movement of her life to be in Pakistan. She said that I am going back home by leaving my heart here for Pakistanis.
All the delegates expressed pleasure over coming to Pakistan and said that this event would promote peace across Asia. The delegates lauded the organizers of the festival and specially the love of the people of Pakistan.
Director General PNCA Syed Jamal Shah, diplomats and foreign delegates and a large number of people especially students were attended the ceremony. More than 113 films were screened in three days Asia Peace Film Festival from more than 30 Asian countries.
The awards winning films were selected by the jury of Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Korea, China and Malaysia got awards in various categories. Chief of executive of the Asia Peace Film Festival highly appreciated government of Pakistan and specially ministry of Information for their support in organizing three-day successful event.
He also thanked the foreign delegates who belonged to more than 13 Asian countries.
