Doctor Strange

Throwback 2016
Doctor Strange

Benedict Cumberbatch has done it again. From Sherlock to Imitation Game, the actor never disappoints. One of the reasons Doctor Strange was a hit because of Benedict Cumberbatch, in fact the biggest reason. He has beautifully adopted the role and given perfect level of comedy, wit and arrogance to the character. He has played a role of a very successful but arrogant doctor who loses the ability to move his hands in an accident.

The beauty of the character is how he wants to better himself and know whatever he can; he is someone who takes his intellect very seriously. When western medicines failed to cure he turns to eastern medicine, where he discovers magic, sorcery and various dimensions he never knew existed as well as a mystical war that is raging and he tries to find his place in between. Marvel has once again introduced a quite obscure comic book hero and made it work.

The visuals take this movie to a whole new level; it was one of the most remarkable 3D experiences. The action sequences in the movie are fantastic, the movie have provided the audience with class-A visuals. Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikkelson were the cherry on top. Both have played their respective characters remarkably, could not have been better. On the downside, the first act of the movie is quite rushy, it needed more pace-building with the character and his training. At the end, great actors and remarkable visuals a 2016 must watch.
