This is why Imran Khan attended NA session over FATA Merger Bill

Somebody advised Khan to attend the session or he will lose his support: Rauf Klasra

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 25th May, 2018) Renowned journalist Rauf Klasra while talking on a tv program commented on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s statement that he does not remember when he last came to National Assembly.

Klasra said that he went to Assembly over someone’s advice that if he does not attend the session today, he will lose his support.

The journalist said that Imran Khan has got much support in Pashtun belt.

“A wise man gave him an advice that FATA Merger Bill will be presented in National Assembly on Thursday, therefore his presence is necessary over there,” he said.

“The person giving an advice to Khan should be lauded and so should be Khan for understanding this, because if Khan would not have attended the session, he would have been bracketed with the two people opposing FATA reforms. These two people are Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Khan came to the Assembly just to avoid getting bracketed with these two politicians,” Klasra added.

The journalist said that if Khan had not attended the session, the media and his opposition would have greatly criticized him. The adviser saved him from this.

In a landmark development, the National Assembly on Thursday approved a much-awaited constitutional amendment bill regarding the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the majority. At least 229 members of the assembly voted in favour of the introduction of the bill while 11 others voted against it.

In a surprising move, PTI chief Imran Khan, who has been forcefully supporting the Fata merger, also reached the NA after nearly two years to take part in the landmark event. However, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party members boycotted the session.
