Women Hail Krishna Kohli Election As First Hindu Women Senator

Women from different walks of life here in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad hailed the election of Krishna Kohli as Senator.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2018 ) :Women from different walks of life here in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad hailed the election of Krishna Kohli as Senator. Senator Krishna Kohli is the first woman from the Hindu community to have been elected as a senator.
It can inspire and encourage other girls and women belonging to a community like hers to change their lives and join politics. The increased participation of women in politics helped raise many gender-related issues, said a Doctor, Fauzia Saeed while hailing Krishna Kohli's election, adding it was a good omen for the religious minorities of the country.
"It was first time in history of the country that a Thari Hindu woman has been elected to the Senate," she said. Another womab, Dr Anjum said that election of a Hindu women senator from far flung remote Nagarparkar, tharparkar was very positive initiative.
An M.phil student kanwal khan said that it was good news for women across Pakistan, especially for those belonging to the minority communities.
