SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2018 ) :Roadside vendors selling watermelons are doing brisk business in Sukkur and Shikarpur with the rise of mercury. Watermelon, the refreshing summer fruit with lots of water and no fattening elements, is the hot buy this season.
People prefer this fruit because it contains 92 percent of water.
In the scorching summer months, it is good and a diet high in water content can contribute to daily fluid requirements. Muhammad Ashraf a roadside vendor while talking to APP on Wednesday said, 'The average sale of watermelons this time is about 400 kgs per day, almost a double demand for the last four years.
'We are used to sell about 300 kgs of this fruit in a day. This time, though, there seems to be crave for the fruit among people,' a fruit vendor said.
