Waleed Khan, the brave survivor of terrorist attack at Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar, has brought laurels for the country by winning Youth Parliament elections in Birmingham (England).

Waleed, who was critically injured receiving eight bullets, six in the face, was nowadays in England for treatment. Waleed's uncle Ejaz Khan told APP Tuesday his entire family was proud of his achievement, which, in fact, reflected the `patience and resilience' of the nation.
"Waleed has proved to the world that Pakistanis are a brave nation and have the ability to overcome every kind of tragedy and trauma," he added. He said Waleed had been undergoing plastic surgeries and other procedures for the recovery of his damaged facial and gum tissues.
The treatment might take years, he added. Ejaz said some 123,000 students had applied for membership of Youth Parliament, 14 of them short-listed for election and then finally Waleed out of them was elected.
