RAWALPINDI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2017 ) : Tulsa Road, the main artery of various colonies in the area is fast becoming the "Murree road" of Cannt area as shopping malls and plazas are mushrooming in the length and breath of the road.
The area residents expressing their concern said "We already face great difficulties while passing through the bazar area and fear what will happen in the next few years as with each passing day a new shop or plaza comes up along the road." Saeed Hassan, a retired banker who resides in the area said that he had built a house here that it would be a pollution free and there would be no traffic snarls like in commercial centers of the city, but to my dismay the whole road is now being converted into "Murree Road" of Cannt area.

Arshad Shafi an old St Marian said it was during my school days that traffic was seen during the school's opening and closing hours but now the situation remains the same almost throughout the day.
The residents called upon the Chaklala Cantonment high-ups to review there policy of Zoning under which commercial activities were allowed in residential areas, adding to the traffic mess was the commercialization of adjacent Mazar Qayyum road.
Ms Saima, a commuter from the area said while a underpass and flyovers were built on Murree road to ease flow, here is no provision of expanding the road and demanded of the concerned to take timely measures to mitigate the traveling vows of the area residents. Meanwhile, the area commuters demanded timely filling of numerous potholes along the road and the nearby lanes. APP/sh/ahn
