Taliban are solely afraid of Gen Raheel Sharif, Ali Haider Gillani

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 11th july, 2016) : Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani met the army chief on Monday. Ali Haider, who lived three years as a Taliban prisoner, called him a brave soldier and told Army Chief General Raheel Sharif that his abductors are always afraid of him. His father Yusof Raza Gillani also accompanied his son and praised the struggle of Pakistani army whose tiring efforts freed his son.

A joint operation conducted by the mutual efforts of Afghan and US forces in Ghazni in May, retrieved Ali Haider, three years after he was kidnapped from a pre-election rally in Multan. While giving a detailed interview he told to BBC that taliban wanted the release of a few women of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s family as a ransom of his liberty. Talking about his endurance in the imprisonment, he exclaimed that he had been tied up with the chains for about two years and they didn't let his skin exposed to the sunlight. he also said that in order to keep a track of time, he jotted his thoughts down on a diary, "It kept me sane," he added. Ali Haider is working over a book where he will narrate his ordeal as a Taliban prisoner.
