Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july, 2016) : Four ship HS Chopin, CMA CGM Uruguay, Maersk Chicago, Angelic Glory, Genle and BW Hawk carrying Containers,Canola Seeds, Furnace Oil and Palm oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertillzer Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. In the meantime six more ship Maersk Savannah, Johar Express, Navig-8 Around,Theta Gas, Navig 8 Around, Golden Brilliant and Tectus is scheduled to load/offload containers,cenebt,soya bean seeds,chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Berth occupancy remained at the port at 60% on Tuesday where a total of nine berths were engaged by ships namely CMA CGM Uruguay, Maersk Chicago, C.V Al-Safat, M.V Rowan-3, M.V Orhan, M.V Angelic Glory, M.T Geniem M.T BW Hawk and M.T White Purl to load/ffload containers, General cargo, Clinker, Soya bean seeds,plam oil, furnace oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 93,478 tonnes, comprising 70,478 tonnes import cargo and 23,465 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,567 containers (TEUs)(1,332 imports TUEs & 1,235 TUEs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours. DEPARTURES: C.V Maersk Chicago sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while two more ships BW Hawk and Rowan-3 are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

ARRIVAL schedule: Four ships Maersk Savannah, Johar Express, Navg-8 Around and Theta Gas scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, soya bean seeds and chemicals oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose and Engro Terminal respectively on Wednesday 20 while another container ship CMA CGM Corneile is due to arrive at port Qasim on same day.
