SC To Indict Nehal Hashmi On July 10 For Contempt Of Court

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2017 ) : The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the reply of Nehal Hashmi in suo moto case over his controversial speech and decided to indict him on July 10 for contempt of court.
A three-member special implementation bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan heard the case. The bench expressed displeasure over Hashmi's unannounced absence from the court.
Advocate Hashmat Habib counsel for Nehal Hashmi informed the court that his client had gone to Saudia Arabia to perform Umrah.
Upon this Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that he should not have left without informing the court.
Dismissing the written reply submitted by Nehal Hashmi earlier this week, the bench remarked that it will now bring criminal charges against Hashmi. Advocate Habib said that the court had taken suo moto notice on Registrar note. He pleaded the court to provide Registrar's note so that he could submit further documents. Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till July 10.
