Sardar Yousaf, Italian Senator Discuss Bilateral Issues

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Mar, 2017 ) : Italian Senator Benedetto Della Vedova called on Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf here Wednesday along with his delegation and discussed matters of mutual interest.

The minister said Pakistan and Italy should work together to create a peaceful atmosphere for bridging gaps among all religions and to eliminate distances between Muslim and non Muslim citizens of the country, says a press release.

The minister underlined the need to organize interfaith harmony conferences on international level in order to raise awareness of tolerance among people of different faiths. The ministry had organized similar conference last year in which different foreign countries representatives had participated.

The minister also showed his concerns over the recent blasphemous posts on social media and said that he was looking forward to the cooperation of European union for the removal of the same from the internet.

Around two million Muslims are part of Italian community, out of which 700,000 are Pakistanis and they are playing their productive role in Italian economy. The Italian Senator applauded the continued efforts of ministry for interfaith harmony. He also emphasized that both countries should create a comprehensive framework for religious freedom.
