Russian Military Delegation Visits North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2017 ) : Russian military delegation headed by Deputy Chief of General Staff, Colonel General Israkov Sergi Yuryevich Thursday visited Miran Shah, North Wazirastan Agency.

The delegation was briefed about Pakistan Army's efforts to clear Federally Administered Tribal Areas from terrorists of all hue and colours, Inter Services Public Relations said. The delegation was also briefed about the Pakistan- Afghanistan border management and socio-economic development projects in the area for enduring stability.

The delegation acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army's achievements in fight against terrorism and efforts to bring about stability in the region. Commander Peshawar Corps Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt accompanied the delegation.

The experts termed the visit of high level Russian defence delegation of high importance and observed that Russia and China with Pakistan could have a great alliance for ensuring stability and prosperity in region.
