Rs 260 Mln Plan For Access Road To Govt. Fatima Jinnah College, Chuna Mandi

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2017 ) : The Punjab government has prepared a plan worth Rs. 260 million to provide access road to the students of Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women, Chuna Mandi.
This new facility would benefit the three thousand students as well as the faculty members. In this regard, a meeting was held on Monday under the chair of Provincial Minister for Higher Education and Chairman board of Governors of Govt.
Fatima Jinnah College for Women Syed Raza Ali Gillani at the college committee room. Principal Prof. Shehnaz Kausar and representatives of Higher Education Department attended the meeting. The meeting discussed different matters including renovation of historic building and provision of wider access road to thousands of students and faculty members.
The meeting also discussed the issue of students obstruction in reaching the college due to various commercial activities in the close proximity. Minister Raza Gillani directed that renovation work of the college building should be done in a professional way to help preserve and restore its centuries-old grandeur.
He commended the fact that the college had been providing quality higher education facilities to the girls of walled city for the last three decades. The Minister also approved construction of ten new classrooms to accommodate the rising number of uptown students.
He appreciated that this college had been very helpful in providing education at the doorsteps. Later, he visited different sections of the college.
