Restructuring Programme Put In Place To Improve Performance: NAB

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Oct, 2016 ) : Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Friday said a restructuring programme has been put in place to improve the performance of authority after thorough and comprehensive analysis of deficiencies in structure and operations of the organization.
Thus a new character has been infused, a character marked by Fairness, Objectivity, Professionalism and Transparency which is critical to achieving efficiency across different tiers of the organization, he said.
The Chairman was talking to a delegation of National Democratic Foundation (NDF) led by its Chairman, Kanwar Dilshad which called on him here. He said NAB, an apex anti-corruption organization, was established under NAO to eradicate corruption from the country.
He apprised the delegation that by setting new operational methodology, NAB has been reinvigorated and added present management has initiated the process of putting bureau back on track.
On the occasion, Director General (Operation) NAB gave a detailed briefing about performance of NAB and informed about measures taken by NAB such as introduction of Combined Investigation Teams (CIT), review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) making them relevant to current times, clearly defined Job Descriptions, rational timelines for completing inquiries and investigations and capacity building trainings.
An objective appraisal system - Partly Quantified Grading System - and the Internal Accountability Mechanism (IAM) has improved quality of output considerably with fewer instances of highhandedness and unprofessional conduct.
He informed that tempo and momentum generated in 2014 has been sustained uptill to date. Kanwar Dilshad apprised about working of his organization and appreciated the initiatives taken by NAB. He assured NAB of providing complete support and carrying message far and wide. Chairman NAB thanked the NDF delegation for their visit.
