Rescue 1122 Responded 79,840 Emergencies During Eid Holidays

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -16th Sept,2016) : Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 responded 79,840 emergencies during Eid holidays all over the province while Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi responded 201 emergencies.
Out of total emergency calls received in district Rawalpindi 113 were of road traffic accidents, seven fire incidents, five crime incidents, 63 medical emergencies and 13 miscellaneous emergencies while average response time remained seven minutes.
More than 400 rescuers remained on special duties in Rawalpindi District control room, Emergency Rescue Stations with 14 fully equipped emergencies ambulances, nine fire vehicles two water boozer and five specialized vehicles.
Special mobile posts were established to provide medical cover to the public gatherings. Rescue posts were also established at Chandni Chowk Murree Road, Pirwadhai Mor, Civil Lines Station, Katcheri Chowk, Kalma Chowk Station, Bahria Town G.T.
Road, GPO Chowk Sadder, Rawal Chowk, 22 No. Chungi, Tench Bhatta, Gawalmandi (Children Park), Liaqat Bagh, Nawaz Sharif Park, Jinnah Park and Ayub Park. The emergency vehicles were deputed at all major Eid prayer sites and sensitive areas along with trained emergency staff to provide immediate pre-hospital emergency cover in all districts of Punjab.
79,840 emergencies of the province include 2889 Road Traffic Accidents, 2493 Medical Emergencies, 75 Fire Emergencies, 183 emergencies related to violence and 699 other Emergencies. According to the Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC), the districts had made plans for deployment of emergency ambulances, rescue and fire services at important mosques and Eidgahs.
Rescue mobile posts of emergency paramedics were also deployed at important places of mass gatherings. The PMC established at Rescue 1122 Headquarters remained operational round-the-clock and ensured effective implementation of district emergency plans.
District control rooms also remained functional 24 hours for provision of effective emergency services to the public. DG Rescue Punjab Brig. (R) Dr. Arshad Zia has appreciated the rescuers, whose leaves were restricted and they performed duties on Eid holidays.
Rescuers performed special emergency duties to provide emergency cover to Eid prayer gatherings and provided timely emergency medical, rescue and fire fighting services to citizens during Eid holidays.
