Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Visits Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute For Reviewing Progress On Development

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) and reviewed progress on development works being carried out on the second phase of the project
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2018 ) :Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) and reviewed progress on development works being carried out on the second phase of the project.
He went to operation theatres and inquired after the patients in dialysis center. The patients thanked Shehbaz Sharif for constructing such a wonderful hospital. The Chief Minister presided over a meeting in the committee room of PKLI in which he was briefed about the progress on important matters for the transplant of kidney patients.
While addressing the meeting, he said that PKLI was a state-of-the-art institute of southern Asia. He said the institute had emerged as a role model for others. Punjab government had spent billion of rupees for setting up such a splendid institute.
He said, "We all have to work as a team for the speedy completion of this important project." He said that matters pertaining to kidney transplantation should be settled immediately. The Chief Minister, while talking to the media persons, said "PKLI is state-of-the-art institute where free of cost treatment facility will be available to deserving patients and it contains latest medical equipments and labs." In response to a question, the Chief Minister said, "Time of nation has been wasted in sit-ins besides ruining the national economy whereas we have worked round-the-clock to develop the province.
" He said that NAB should play its due role and take action against corruption but where good work was done, the same should also be appreciated.
To another question, he said that Punjab government had done a wonderful job in Primary healthcare sector. He said that first kidney transplantation would be carried out on May 28 hopefully and the transplantation of deserving patients would be performed totally free.
He said that Imran Niazi did nothing during the last five years except engaging in falsehood, levelling allegations, adding that he (Imran) had devastated KPK as no new institution was developed there and even the existing hospitals were not upgraded.
The CM said that PML-N adopted practical steps to overcome energy crisis and as a result, there was no gap in demand and supply of the electricity. He said that when provinces were allowed to generate electricity, Punjab fulfilled its duty amicably and thousands of megawatts capacity power projects had been set up with its own resources.
Sindh and KPK paid no attention to energy projects and people were facing serious crises of water, electricity and health there, he added.
