PTDC Making Strategy To Promote Tourism In Country: Ch Ghafoor

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2017 ) :Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Abdul Ghafoor said that they are developing a comprehensive strategy for promotion of tourism in the country.
He said the PTDC held a round table meeting this month, where stakeholders including tourists, universities' professors and tour operators presented their valuable recommendations for this strategy.
In the light of these recommendations, Tourism Promotion Strategy is being developed. The conference of UN World Tourism Organization will be held in Islamabad in January 2018, which will help us eliminate the negative propaganda against Pakistan.
He said this, while addressing the participants of 22nd senior management course at National Institute Management Peshawar (NIMP) on Wednesday, said a press release issued here. The National Institute of Management Peshawar (NIMP) 22nd senior management courses would conclude on January12 next year, which was started on September 25 a six-month course in which officers of the Federal and provincial governments and autonomous bodies from BS-19 to BS-20 were participating.
PTDC MD Chaudhry Ghafoor said that in the past, there was no work on the promotion of tourism in the country. But the present government is ready to support PTDC in this valuable sector and promotion of national tourism.
In this context there is a strong need for cooperation between relevant federal and provincial government departments. Tourism can play an important role in promotion of brotherhood and peace among the nations and to coordinate the masses, he added.
Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said the PTDC trying to provide facilities to tourists. Recently, New Zealand's International Olympics Champion Kayaker Mike Dawson has made a documentary during a 15-day tour to Pakistan and said that Pakistan is safe and secure country for tourists.
