Prosecution in Zainab’s murder and rape case has decided to recommend public execution of the convict, Imran Ali, to government.
LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2018) : Prosecution in Zainab’s murder and rape case has decided to recommend public execution of the convict, Imran Ali, to government. An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has handed over four counts of death penalty to accused Imran Ali in seven-year-old Zainab’s rape and murder case today (Saturday). The verdict was announced by ATC judge Sajjad Ahmed at Kot Lakhpat Jail. Imran was handed four separate death sentences after being convicted of the rape and murder of Zainab, as well as terrorism charges, prosecutor general of Punjab province Ihtesham Qadir said after a special anti-terrorism court passed its judgement.
Following the anti-terrorism court’s verdict in Zainab murder case, the victim’s mother Nusrat Bibi demanded execution of the death penalties be carried out in public. "I want him to be hanged publicly at the place where he took Zainab," she told reporters after the verdict.
