ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2018 ) :Special Assistant to the prime minister on Media Affairs, Dr. Musadik Malik Tuesday said the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was in favour of accountability but it should be held across the board and in a transparent manner.
Talking to a private news channel, he said former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was facing trial against him and appearing in the courts regularly but nothing was proved so far. There was need to bring reforms in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws for transparency in the accountability process, he said adding that former Chairman NAB had also stressed the need for improvements in the process.
He said that NAB was introduced in dictatorial regime and specific laws were included to target politicians. To a question, he said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced to establish its accountability commission in the province but it was not functional anywhere while Sindh government passed a bill to bar NAB for its jurisdiction in the province.
He said the Parliament was appropriate forum to resolve all matters of national importance.
