PITB, ET&NCD Launch Vehicle Verification Service In Punjab

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with the Excise,Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) has launched a vehicle verification service in Punjab on Friday

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Oct, 2017 ) :The Punjab Information Technology board (PITB) in collaboration with the Excise,Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) has launched a vehicle verification service in Punjab on Friday.

The service can be availed by sending a vehicle's registration number through SMS to 8785 to get ownership details of motor vehicles registered across the Punjab through system generated response.

Dr Umar Saif, the founding Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU), Chairman PITB and Advisor to the CM Punjab, said, in a message, that joint efforts of the PITB and ET&NCD would facilitate people through smartphones to get authentic information online and without visiting the respective department 24/7.

The service will prove to be extremely useful while performing all post-transactions like selling and purchasing of vehicle prior to any of such transaction and to avoid false and fabricated information.

The status of yearly token tax of the vehicle in real time, chassis number, engine number, make, model, registration date, purchase price, colour, owner's name, owner's father name and owner's city can also be retrieved through the service.
