MULTAN, Oct 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Oct, 2017 ) : Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams conducted raids at different food points in districts of South Punjab and destroyed thousands of packets of 'Gutka', known for its cancer related hazards, in Khanewal.
According to an official release issued here Tuesday, PFA teams visited Mudwala Chowk, block-10, in Khanewal where they destroyed 15000 packets of 'Gutka' including 13570 packets recovered from Rehan Pan Supari merchant and 1000 sachets from a drink corner.
They also destroyed sizable quantity of non-food grade colour and expired sweets during raids at different sweets shops.
In Multan, PFA imposed Rs 23000 fine on three food shops including Rs 10,000 on Al-Rehmat bakers, Rs 12000 on Malik Abdur Rahman products and Rs 1000 on Marhaba sweets and bakers at Adda Rajapur and Imperial Foods at Masoom Shah road.
In Vehari, PFA teams gave cooking and cleanliness guidelines to cooking staff deputed for preparing 'Langar' and "Niaz". Many hotels and food points in Burewala were also issued notices to set things right regarding cleanliness.
