PDWP Approves 24 Projects Costing Rs 16496.932 Million

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Oct, 2016 ) : A meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan here Tuesday approved As many as 24 projects in Agriculture, Food, Environmental, Elementary and Secondary education, Higher Education, sports and Tourism, Energy and Power and Local Development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 16496.932 million.

The approved projects included Small Farmers Land Development and Reclamation, Feasibility and Establishment of KP Seed Corporation, Plantation of Five Million Olive Saplings and maintenance of Model Farm, Sangbhatti, improvement of Trout Hatchery at Madyan Swat and Carp Hatchery at Sher Abad Peshawar with Training Centers, establishment of Insaf Veterinary Clinics, development of fisheries and aquaculture, sustainable agriculture development for food security through integrated approach, Insaf Food Security Program, improvement and lining of water courses, reclamation of degraded soils through soil conservation practices, mass vaccination treatment and artificial insemination, meat and dairy production and development with market linkages, genetic improvement of local goats through cross breeding with Saanen Goat in Malakand Region, provision of weigh stations in existing food grain store houses.

The other projects are: Green Pakistan Program in KP, special initiative sub head: provision of scholarship under Stoori da Pakhtunkhwa Program for the position holders of Government t High and Higher Secondary school, establishment of Government Colleges in KP (Phase -III), tourism development activities, tourism area integrated development project (Establishment of Provincial Tourism Authority), improvement of infrastructure in Sheikh Maltoon Township Mardan, special development package for Militancy & Flood hit area in PK 86, District Swat, civil suit of Touqeer Asghar Vs Government of KP, Abdul Ghani vs Collector Government of KP, provision for Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (BOS).
