Pakistan May Miss Achieving Mango Export Target: Mian Zahid Hussain

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -21st Sept,2016) : Senior Vice-Chairman of Businessmen Panel and President of All Karachi Industrial Alliance Mian Zahid Husain has expressed apprehension that this year country may miss mango export target.
In a statement here Wednesday, Mian Zahid Hussain said that due to poor state of some mango orchards, there is possibility of 20,000 tons less export of mangoes target set.
He said that one of the reasons in declines in export of mango is aged mango trees/orchards, besides lack of interests from the growers to plant saplings of new mango verities and increase in overhead expenditures of traders.
He said that soon the mongo season will come to end and after that final data of export will be known, however as per current information, the situation is not favourable. According to him, as per official target of 110,000 tons, there is a possibility of 90,000 tons export.
